Objectives
Participants are able
- to identify and understand the way external conditions impact on internal processes and dynamics of an organization;
- to strategise adequate organisational responses to changing environments.
- to engage in and facilitate – where necessary – change processes within teams, departments or organisations as well as undertake initiatives for organisational strengthening;
- to reflect their own role within the organisational context.
Organisations working in conflict zones are often faced with specific challenges like rapidly changing environments. Often they experience tensions between a strong obligation and commitment towards assisting communities in distress and on the other hand of complying with standards of professional organisations as also demanded by international donors. This requires flexible enough strategies, but also managing well the overall organisation as well as internal team dynamics.
The seminar introduces key concepts of organisational development and the facilitation of change processes in organisations, departments or teams.
Participants of this course will be introduced to approaches towards organizational diagnostics and change in their organisations. These will include analytical and strategic tools as well as methods to support change processes like facilitating larger groups (“Open Space”), group dynamics or different phases in organisational development.
The training addresses staff members with internal advisory functions or who are involved in internal development processes. They should be responsible as leaders at least at team-level and be interested in exploring new instruments about developing strategies of organisational change management and in reflecting their own role in such processes
